CASA stands for “Court Appointed Special Advocate”, volunteers who are appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children. These adult supporters make sure their kids don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system, or languish in inappropriate group or foster homes. Volunteers stay with each case until it is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. For many abused children, their CASA volunteer will be the one constant adult presence in their lives.
Holman supports several CASA organizations in different regions of the country, and one of them is in Tarrant County, home to the men and women of ARI’s Grapevine call center. PIE advocate Michelle Fletcher just sent photos of a fund-raising event for CASA that Holman helped sponsor: Pulls for Kids, a clay-shooting event. The Grapevine TRC sent four participants, and none were later reported missing in action.

Armed but not very dangerous: Gerald Neal, Bryan Catrina, George Admire, and Mike Lappe

Pull! Note the sporting clay way out in the left side of the photo.
